Hi, I’m Clare Hudson and I’m the owner of this site, Mummy to a three year old boy and baby girl, and London based yoga teacher.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. — Goethe
I set Thought Brick up in 2013 my brother Mike from Van Dog Traveller, after discovering an old book belonging to my grandparents, with the words Thought Brick handwritten inside. My grandparents used to use the term to highlight how powerful our thoughts are and that if you change your thoughts, you can change your life. Back in the 70’s, I think they did the Thought Bricks positive thinking course, which is where I believe this name originally came from, but I can’t be sure. Either way, I think ‘Thought Brick’ is a beautiful concept that we can all relate to in some way.
What I write about
Thought Brick began as an outlet for me to simply explore and share ideas and thoughts around mind, body, spirit and belief, after I had an incredibly powerful meditation experience back in 2011 whilst working in Tasmania. I wasn’t a regular meditator but this one session I went to absolutely blew my mind and led me to want to explore mind-body practices in a lot more depth. I’m not religious and even to this day, I don’t subscribe to one over arching belief system or spiritual practice.
A lot of what I write about is from the perspective of a ‘Beginner’. I’m a huge fan of the Zen Buddhist ‘Beginner’s Mind’ teachings. Although I am a qualified yoga and meditation teacher now, there is still always so much more to learn. You can expect to find articles on a whole range of subjects here from the Wim Hof Method to lucid dreaming, yoga and much more.
Current yoga and meditation practice
I practise Hatha/ Vinyasa flow yoga alongside the Wim Hof Method and a Deborah King mantra meditation.

I have a degree in Fine Art and also co-run an Etsy shop called Yoga Spirit Art which I run with my Mum. We design and sell yoga and meditation inspired prints.
More recently I set up a podcast called Squiggly Lives with one of my good friends Helena. Every few weeks we chat to a new person about what purpose means to them.
I’ve travelled quite a bit, lived on the Arctic Circle for half a year and have done a lot of different jobs before deciding to teach yoga, blog and build a life that makes me feel present and alive.
