15 photos of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi/ Beatles Ashram

I had no idea what to expect when I visited the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ashram in Rishikesh — the ashram where the Beatles visited in the 60’s, but I’m so glad I had the chance to see it. The ashram was abandoned in the mid 90’s after being home to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who developed Trancendental Meditation (TM). Today, it’s like walking into a beautiful but mystical living art gallery, surrounded by nature.

First glimpse of the ashram. Presumably people meditated in these domes.
